May/June 2013 Updates

5th Jun 13

You may have noticed there was no offical update pushed out during May. This was due to a new responsive website tool that we have been developing. The tool allows for a quick comparison of how your website will look on multiple tablets and/or smartphones. This tool will be rolled out into Orbit during the next major overhall.

Below is the list of updates that have been pushed out which covers work done throughout the past two months.

  • Blog
Improved detection of incoming links from LinkedIn and various performance enhancements including the removal of the saving warning
  • Formmail
Bug fix for IE8 and Safari that sometimes couldn't detect incomplete fields
  • Imaging Library
Improved stability when resizing some images that resulted in a zero byte file
  • TinyMCE
Improved support for larger images and previewing images before adding
  • Content Management System
    Performance and security updates
  • DBOperate
Performance and security improvements as well as improved support for TinyMCE
  • Google Maps
Upgraded to latest version of Google Maps API (3). Provides improved mobile device support and enhanced customisation of the look and feel of the map

One of the biggest updates for this latest release is our upgrade to the Google Maps module. The module now supports version 3 of Google Maps API which improves stability on mobile devices as well as offering a lot mof customisation - you can even theme the map to suit your own site now!

We have a major design overhall happening in the coming months which will include the user interface as well - so keep an eye out for that.

If you have any questions on the future road map of Orbit, or have any support questions, please feel free to send them through via the support area once logged into the CMS.
