December 2015 Updates

21st Dec 15

With Christmas now in sight we have pushed out this month's updates nice and early. Our updates this month have focused on securing the login area of Orbit to protect it against brute force attacks. This is a common attack where someone is trying to crack a user's password and gain access into the CMS. Now, when someone fails to correctly enter an account's password three (3) times in a row, their account will be disabled for 10 minutes. Orbit also takes this a step further as when it recognises someone attempting to log in multiple times, across multiple accounts, it will block them altogether.

In addition we've also release a bunch of improvements to our eCommerce module - sometimes it is the simple things that make the management of your site more enjoyable!

Below are some of the other notable updates we've made:

Updated template to support HTTPS mode when available

Performance and security enhancements

Page Layouts
Added support for a new type of layout that can be managed directly in the module rather than the page editor

Content Management System
Updated login screen to run in HTTPS mode when available so that credentials are submitted securely

Page Editing
Tweaked how link lists are displayed to aid with some browsers caching old lists

Various improvements and tweaks to the backend interface and other security enhancements

Improved control for output into sitemaps

If you have any questions on the future road map of Orbit, or have any support questions, please feel free to send them through via the support area once logged into the CMS.
